In my many years as a sterile processing tech I have learned what works in this field and what does not. The field of sterile processing is an indirect but direct impact on patient care and literally the outcome and recovery of a patients procedure. Sterile Processing is the heart of the hospital.
Central Service Technician
Central service technicians, also called sterile processing technicians or central service technicians (CS) professional, play a critical role in preventing infection by sterilizing, cleaning, processing, assembling, storing, and distributing medical supplies. In most medical facilities The CS dept is in a separate area away from surgery. Surgery is the main customer of sterile processing. Central Serivces is the heart of the Hospital literally almost any everything that is sterilized in anyway comes through sterile processing.
About Me
I‘m a certified sterile processing tech (CRCST) A member of Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), I have been a preceptor in which I helped educate new employees. I have been part of the peer evaluation committee. I have worked in the field of sterile processing for over two decades. I started this course to bridge the gaps of everyday people wanting to enter the field and some who have went to a college in the field. I want to take you from a regular 9 to 5 to a career that Will elevate your life with opportunities for success. Sterile processing is not just a job it’s a career.
